Like most people in the UK, I am subject to the fuel crisis. I haven’t taken any notice of this nor considered the impact until I realised that the government support runs out at the end of March 23.

Once I came to terms with this notion, I understood that I would left with a hefty fuel bill. So this has given me some thought about what I use verses what I need. Plus it will be better on my conscience to be evironmentally considerate.

I packed my computer away (more for the purpose of decorating than anything), I would often turn it on in the morning (both of them) and only use them a couple of times and then turn them of last thing at night. My internet stays on all the time, plus my tv on standby, not anymore.

I only turn lights on in rooms I am in. I have turned the heating down in rooms that don’t need it all the time. I have stopped washing up dishes as they are used now set them aside for a late eveing clean.

I have also attempted to do my washing twice a week rather than every day, it does mean my wahsing basket has filled up quickly. My dryer has not been on since Monday.

I now use my Lenovo tablet for most things, with a 10″ screen, it works and fits well for my use. I am still getting to know my way round it. I set up my Audio Pi as an FTP server, now I can record on the Pi and transfer the files easily over FTP to the tablet, edit and publish. All battery powered, plus my mobile internet of 20gb a month works well with both the Pi and the tablet.
