The Enjoyable River_Lee Podcast 2023

My favourite hike from Enfield to Hertford, this time it is more of a special walk. This is a good way to return to the series and share with you my thoughts and ideas. I took advantage of the good winter weather and headed north from Enfield Chase via, Cheshunt, Broxborne, Rye House, St Margarets, Stansted Abbots, Ware and finally ending up at Hartham common in Herford. In a bid to make my blog more popular, I have downloaded a SEO plugin and it is telling to on top of recording a podcast, write over 600 words as a paragraph to accompany this blog post.

My Girlfriend Jo lives in Hertford, it’s not a big place. When I arrieved there I went ot sainsbury’s to get some bit and I expecte to see her there, which I thought would be both funny and cool. Turns out I missed her by 15 minutes, which in it’s self is kind of funny. Aslo diffuclt to explain, since I could have knocked on her door for a cup of tea. I did think she would be working to be fair but as it runs out she wasn’t.

Back to the podcast, I will be producing some morelive broadcasts over the next few months as well as some podcasts continuing Hikenpod. I was planning to try something new but I feel I should continue and develop series 5, since it started at the beginning of 2022.

The new set up for 2023

Like most people in the UK, I am subject to the fuel crisis. I haven’t taken any notice of this nor considered the impact until I realised that the government support runs out at the end of March 23.

Once I came to terms with this notion, I understood that I would left with a hefty fuel bill. So this has given me some thought about what I use verses what I need. Plus it will be better on my conscience to be evironmentally considerate.

I packed my computer away (more for the purpose of decorating than anything), I would often turn it on in the morning (both of them) and only use them a couple of times and then turn them of last thing at night. My internet stays on all the time, plus my tv on standby, not anymore.

I only turn lights on in rooms I am in. I have turned the heating down in rooms that don’t need it all the time. I have stopped washing up dishes as they are used now set them aside for a late eveing clean.

I have also attempted to do my washing twice a week rather than every day, it does mean my wahsing basket has filled up quickly. My dryer has not been on since Monday.

I now use my Lenovo tablet for most things, with a 10″ screen, it works and fits well for my use. I am still getting to know my way round it. I set up my Audio Pi as an FTP server, now I can record on the Pi and transfer the files easily over FTP to the tablet, edit and publish. All battery powered, plus my mobile internet of 20gb a month works well with both the Pi and the tablet.
