Here is the latest blog and video for this week, I had recorded and accompanying podcast in addition to this video but I didn’t bring the lead I used to transfer the audio from the Tascam DR-40x. I will at least publish it at a later date, although the recording is only 3 minutes long, I am not sure if it’s worth it.
With not so much of an adventure podcast, it is an account of my day to day life, so it lives up to the concept that blogs are supposed to be.
I have been trying to put together a last minute training plan for my major hike next month, I wanted to walk to Harlow but I felt that had less imagination than the walk I ended up doing. So I walked to central London via the river Lea… again. To be fair, the last time I completed this walk was at the beginning of December 23. Not a lot had changed if anything, only the decorations.
Despite it being a 17 mile odd walk to the London bridge, my end point, it wasn’t a challenge at all. It didn’t start getting interesting until I reached Stratford. I was excited by recently booking our adventures to Holland and Cornwall in the summer, so my mind was mostly on bike servicing, route making and booking campsites, with the odd stop where I checked for items on my phone.
The main reason for the walk other than the practice was to record a #hikenpod and that never happened, but, i am saving up my big adventures for the channel and the little ones for here.

I was lucky enough to participate in a ghost hunt at Valence house in Dagenham. I was both spooky and fun at the same time. I met some lovely people and I was put in their group and I think they were experienced investigators. There was around 50 people there and we were split into three groups and we each took a space in the house. We went to the basement first, then the attic and finally the main museum area last, then we were given free time to explore the house ourselves and I went back out with my group. We we allowed to use some the professional equipment, although I am not sure how well it worked.
I used my Tascam DR-40x to record the audio in the room and my OnePlus phone to take timelapse and videos.
It was my Christmas present, so I did really well this year.
