The Last Proper Hike of 2024 (with the Pi)

The Almost Last Hike of 2024

I have chosen to end the year with a massive walk and technology dump. I put together a Raspberry Pi 4 with an HQ camera module and walked into central London and recorded footage and took photos. It ended up being a 29 mile walk, that was fun but painful.

How much computer power do you actually need 2024?

The Raspberry Pi 5 (Ubuntu)

Since I seem to only publish one of these podcasts per year, I return with another one and a brand new Raspberry pi to do it on.

I am going to try and only use (except for printing) my Raspberry pi 5 for all of my day to day computer use, that includes;

  • Emails
  • Research
  • Podcast planning and writing
  • Session planning and writing
  • Audio recording, editing and publishing
  • Logo and image design and publishing
  • Story writing
  • File management
  • Show broadcasting

All of these task can be performed on a Pi 4… slowly, so on a 5 it should be a little easier but we will see.

For my work set up as mentioned in the podcast, I will still continue to use my Pi 4 with Android and carry out my working week there.

How much Computer Power Do You Actually Need? 2023 – The Onion Server – Deep Web Set Up.

I am giving this Vlogcast another try, the cable I used failed between the Pi400 and the monitor. I only found this out yesterday.

With a fresh 64bit OS, I thought I would see how much power is needed to use this as an everyday computer, for blogging, vlogging, audio recording, picture editing, video editing you get the idea.

As stated in the video here is list of software you will need to to follow and achieve the same results.

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bllS9tkCkaM Network Chuck’s video to install a DeepWeb Site on a raspberry pi or any device.
  • Install proftp ‘sudo apt install proftpd -y’ then open ‘sudo nano /etcproftd/proftpd.conf’ and change the server name to your choosing.
  • Install pi apps as listed in the video, then install all required software that you feel you will need.

The purpose of this video is a demonstration not a tutorial. Feel free to message me with any comments.
