The Christmas lights that guide us so
It’s got to be a favourite time of year.
All hail the jolly fat Man
The purpose of this post is , I cannot at the moment go out and hike, I am too unwell. I went for a walk today and did 21000 steps. I was encouraged by the mic on the OnePlus Nord phone, it’s not amazing by any suggestions but good enough to get me out of trouble should I forget the Tascam, or run out of batteries, we know that has happened before, several times.
The next podcast or the one after will be coming from CORNWALL! The long awaited big hike, that I feel I am now not ready for, yikes!!!

The Last Broadcast
I visited Lymmington via Burley in the New Forest to complete the last hike of 2023. It was a loop of Lymmington, Rennington, Everton, Newhavern before returning to Lymmington.
The walk was around 22km and that ie 13.5 miles in old money, it took about 4 and a half hours. When I arrived at Newhavern, I had planned to walk along the shingle to the lighthouse at the end. It was extremely windy and added a further hour to the journey, knowing full well I would be already walking for the last hour and a hour in the dark.
It was a fantastic walk and day to end the year for Hike’n’Pod, I hope you enjoy the episode and I look forward to taking you on more adventures in 2024.
Happy new year!
