I was asked to drive a group of people to Southend on sea for a day trip to the seaside, so I took advantage recorded a couple of podcasts. Here is HikenPod episode 12 https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/8uqMrjjteBb but below you will find HnP supplemental episode 3, I recorded the Hnp3 first by mistake and then recorded E12 on the way back. I didn’t feel comfortable publishing the later to the series. Thanks for joining me on this journey.

The last look at west Cornwall (for 4 weeks)
The photo in the header is a pic of St Ives bay during a beautiful sunset, I din’t manage to capture it’s essence with my phone or the atmosphere. Molly and I were walking on the beach, a route that Jo and Molly found earlier in the day and it is a more of a special part of the beach.
Looking back it was a great holiday for number of reasons,
- It was Jo and I’s first holiday together
- Molly’s health dramatically improved
- The weather was great for the time of year
- I got to go to Tom’s holidays at time I could afford, thanks to Jo
I managed to publish 3 podcasts, blogs and a supplemental, and my car I discovered is more fuel efficient than my last one.
This is my last look at west Cornwall (for 4 weeks) until I return with Lucas for an exciting adventure for 2023. Then again, maybe with Molly and then again for the Eden project marathon.
Penzance in my pants
Sitting in a tea shop on Market Jew street in the centre of town and I finally saw in Penzance what every one else was seeing and I mean Lucas and Jo.
Penzance is quite the lovely town, of course there are parts of it that are a little run down but my snobbery and bias towards St Ives has always held me back. Once you explore all of it and see it for what it is, it’s much nicer than I once thought.
Still not as nice as Hayle or Heyl as it is known in Cornish (a made up language of gibberish, the yolkels claim to speak), the list is as follows. And no I am not apologising for that.
View to St Michael’s mount, the hidden high streets, the ghost stories, the lagoon, the arcade, the pasty shops, the walk to Marazion and Newlyn, the YHA, it has a hospital, the harbour etc.
This is the first of many adventures here in west Cornwall in 2023.
