As November is just around the corner, I was and had planned to return to Cornwall the place I love so much but doesn’t seem to like me.
Let’s be honest here I don’t save up my money and time for that matter to go and receive the famous non existent Cornish hospitality, I go for the view and the atmosphere.
Money is becoming tight now and I want to save up to get the things that will make our lives better in light of the things we are trying for. Obviously I can’t afford it which is a bummer, so I’m looking at January the 8th 2012 for the next trip which isn’t so far away, it gives me time to sort myself out with money and still have an amazing time. So roll on Jan 2012.
The net thing is the weather, I haven’t been out of season since 2003 and the weather was pretty grim. That in it’s self doesn’t worry me, I’ll hike in any condition and get loads of dramatic pictures of the skyline to bring back.
Cornish people call us Emmits or Emmetts or how ever you spell it because they don’t know ethier. Without our tourism money and our tax money that helps out the county every year as the British government gives Cornwall a handout annually, most of Cornwall would be a poor crumby fishing village. Most of the holiday homes as I see it and this is only my opinion so I could be wrong, are owned by people who live outside the county. Every year apart from 2008 we have stayed in a cottage owned by somebody who lives in Derby-shire or somewhere and the caretaker lives locally. Be grateful Cornwall as I suspect I don’t think the rest of England would support London in the same way.
